Buta Ranquil and Barrancas

We leave on our bikes, with 6 liters of water in addition to our cans. We start a long hill, with a little hope of taking a pick-up: when we hear a car arrive, we hitchhike. This method was not a big waste of time because with the few cars, we did not do much more breaks than our drink breaks!

We are taken after 15 kilometers, almost at the top of the climb. We're 20 kilometers with two nice guys going to their fields. Then once the bikes almost ready to ride, and just enough time to turn on the GPS, another pickup stops. This time he drives us 50 kilometers further to Buta Ranquil. Here we fill up on food and gas and then leave for the next village 30 kilometers away. It's not yet midday.

It's very hot, but because of the short distance and despite the 45°C, it's doable (10 kilometers more would've been hard). We go to the free municipal campground. We are in the middle of chickens and roosters, it's rather nice and well maintained.
