We get up under a nice sun. After tidying up the tent, we have breakfast with freshly baked bread at the campsite, a delight. This done, we resume our journey along the Meuse. We arrive relatively quickly to Charleville-Mézières. The Ducale square is very pretty and we decide to take our break of 10AM on the fountain in the middle of the sqaure. We also take advantage of the free WiFi of the tourist office to find Warmshowers hosts for the next nights.

Leaving the square it starts to rain a little fine rain, nothing really bad. But the fine rain intensifies gradually until it becomes a rain that wets well. We are sheltering in an agricultural machinery shed with the permission of the farmer to eat our lunch. The sky is slowly discovering until the sun comes back to dry us completely. We leave then towards Reims.

We start to tire when we approach Rethel, so we decide to look for a place to sleep, there is no camping nearby. Floriane asks if we can sleep in a property that looks like the home of a wealthy farmer. Jean-Baptiste generously offers us to sleep in the brand new premises for the workers during the week (there is even a shower), then invites us to have a drink with his family later. We clean ourselves up before going to enjoy a very good champagne with Jean-Baptiste, his wife and his son.
