This city is really nice. It's the first city in South America that we find really beautiful. There are many churches and streets in the center are lined with white houses with wooden balconies and very nice patios. We happily walk theses streets. We wish to visit several places here, which is why we book for 4 nights from the start, we'll leave on Tuesday. After a day in Sucre we learn that a French restaurant organizes a special French dinner for the Francophony day on Wednesday after our scheduled departure date. Then we would like to climb to change a bit of cycling. We need no more reason to convince us to stay 2 more nights in Sucre, so we'll leave on Thursday.

On Sunday we decide to go to Tarabuco, a village not far from Sucre known for its textile market, but also for its festival of native culture that takes place only once a year, today. Delegations from many villages come to dance and feast in traditional clothes. The show is unique and colorful.

The next day we visit the casa de la Libertad, a museum retracing the history of the independence of Bolivia. The guide presents in English all the facts and figures of Bolivia's independence.

On Tuesday things get complicated, Francois doesn't feel very well, he has intestinal problems. We're trying to rest to see if we can maintain the climbing session. But it wont be possible, François has vertigo just by walking in the street. So no climbing tomorrow, but pizza-beer tonight, we've to compensate a little for our mood.

The night from Tuesday to Wednesday is very complicated, François goes more than 10 times to the bathroom. We go to the hospital early in the morning, Francois has salmonella, he'll sleep in the hospital. While Francis is recovering slowly, Floriane has a very bad night being alternatively hot and cold and nausea. On Thursday we lunch face to face on our beds in our our small hospital room with our drips on each side of the table.

On Friday we leave the hospital. Floriane had the choice to go out or not today, she had already seen enough of the hospital. We both have a strict diet: no dairy products, vegetables, fruits or red meat. Finding food in nearby restaurants becomes very complicated, we've to walk a lot to peel the cards. We're frustrated with being so limited and constrained on food and consequently on restaurants. Apart from lunch and dinners, we rest in the room, we are both very weak.

On Saturday we discover a supermarket, the first in Bolivia, which proves to be well supplied. Since then we prefer to cook our own meals. Today, on Sunday and Monday we try to rest a maximum, we're getting better little by little. Morale is not very high, we cann't wait to get back on the road.

To see if our health is strong enough to get back on the road, we decide to go for a bike ride to the seven waterfalls, it's 15km from Sucre. The road that leads to it isn't very good, right out of the city there are a lot of rubbish on the sides of the road, and sometimes it's quite smelly. Arriving in a village near waterfalls, a minibus driver shows us the wrong way, we're forced to turn around. The waterfalls are really cute and the water has a beautiful blue-green color.

Tomorrow is the big day, we finally leave Sucre. The weather forecast for the next week is very bad in Sucre, we're doing well to leave, tomorrow shouldn't be too bad.
